Nice and easy setup

I purchased this expansion handset to go with the original (almost 5 years old) base set. This unit works with the KX-TGM490C model. Basically I charged the new unit overnight and synced with the base per new handset's LCD instruction. I have also replaced the batteries on the base handset. Now this new 2 handsets unit is as good as new. The new handset works exactly the same way as the original handset. The ringer volume is very loud and receiver volume is also loud. The unit is a must have for people with hearing impairment issue for sure.

I find this phone to be excellent in every way except the T coil connection function where it does not compare with the hearing aid manufacturers supplied phone.
